One of the big projects at IFI this week is an international prospect screening. This type of work was the topic of some discussion during the international prospect research panel at last week’s APRA International Conference and always comes up when I teach international research classes.  There is a great deal of interest in automated screenings — like those commonly used to assess prospects living in the United States — to help prioritize international prospects. At this point, however, such automated screenings aren’t available outside of a handful of countries. That doesn’t mean the screening process is unavailable to fundraising offices that want to prioritize their prospects around the world.

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, I will post a two-part series about international prospect screenings. The first post will explore why automated international screenings aren’t possible at this time. In the second post, I will talk about what it takes to do an international screening given the limitations mentioned in part one. I also will talk  a little bit about the international screening process at IFI.

What else is coming up on the IFI blog? Later in the week, look for a post featuring a round-up of recent philanthropy news stories from around the world, as well as a post about global travel news for international fundraisers. You can receive an email notifying you of new blog posts by entering your email in the box on the upper left-hand corner of your screen.

Have a great week!
